So my dad dropped the tank, blew it all out, and put it all back in, and it ran fine. Here is the deal. With the fuel pump unbolted and hanging, it runs like a champ. bolt itback up, and it dies. I told Dad to replace the rubber fuel hoses cuz that is all I could think of. What is the little round metal thing tha is in teh line at the pump? Some kind of dampener I heard but not sure, could that be the problem? Is it safe to take out?

mine went bad on a wagon that i sold , and it ran fine after i changed it, mine was all rusted out and leaking gas
