how do I pull abs codes 98 obw

Featured Replies

How do I pull abs codes on a 98 legacy outback wagon. It appears to have the 5.3i abs system. My sensors have been cleaned and I have checked the front two for resistance and gap. Light comes on after short drive.

I think you need a scanner for OBD2 to do that.

My obdII code reader sez no trouble codes. I have heard there is a plug I hook a wire to and read the abs light blinks. Thanks for the thought. Ed

There is a black six pin plug above the accelerator pedal with two small black wire probes tape to it. You turn the key off, insert a probe in pin 6 (ushaped plug, lower right hole when u is up), turn the key on, count the long and short flashes. Look up the code. Mine was a 56 abonormal voltage output from G sensor. Thanks to Rod a Lithia Subaru, Oregon City, Parts. Ed
