I'm told I need a "donut" gasket that goes in front of the catalytic converter? What is the real name for it? Does anyone know a part number or where I can get one? My parts supplier isn't showing anything pre-'82?

Yup, believe it or not, thats what they call it. Remove it and take it to the parts store, they should be able to match it.

I just did a search... der... should have done that in the first place <blush>... I see that a Toyota one fits, even have a part number F14592... just to make sure I'll take it down and have them match it up... seems lots of things on this truck have been... a'hem... "improvised"? Thanks!

 

P.S. - My stealership refuses to look for parts for something this old.
