DIY Oil Changes and the Factory Warranty

Featured Replies

Does anyone know if doing the oil and filter changes yourself voids the Subaru Factory Warranty?

Its not supposed to void it. Stay on their good side by buying Genuine filters and using the oil recommended for the temperature and type of driving you do. Also get the drain plug ring washers from the dealer as all others dont keep the car from leaking at the plug.

I've always heard that if you keep accurate records and receipts of the oil purchases and do it on time, you are O.K. How do ranchers or others manage when they are isolated from a dealer? They do it themselves I guess. Call the dealer and check in with him or go to the Subaru home site, they will know the details.
