WJM
So, im working on the wagon this morning, and gotta get it running....all of a sudden...RAIN. Crap. SO I work on the car for 2 hrs in the rain, hurrying things along that dont need to be, so that I can get it done before more rain gets here...so...its alive, and it stops raining. Ok cool. CLACK CLACK CLACK CLACK CLACK CLACK CLACK CLACK CLACK CLACK CLACK WTF?!??!?! Cams are prematurely wearing...they are loose on the followers. getting worse. Now i gotta change out cams. AGAIN!!! I JUST PUT THESE IN!!!! the rest seems to work...I CANNOT route the BOV/Recirv valve...stuff is in the way...so i am back to this POS driving condition...surge idle...wont idle...anything above 3300 RPM's and air wooshed out the BOV and runs rich as hell and no power.....and thats I state speeds that i need to travel with for FOUR HOURS friday.....GRRRRR Now, the control arm bushings are here...and they are entirely too big. GRRRRR....something is screwy here.... BUT...TWE header and DP arrived today. SWEET. Tomorrow I have to fab an exhaust for them....looks liek that is ONE thing that will go right.... and just for variety, I will swap in the 87+ turbo cams and get those NOISY NOISY freakin cams out....Delta did a good job...but...I dont know what's wrong. THey didnt do this in the racer RX....started to in the DL...did some more in the grassroots RX...now they are UNBEARABLE in the GL-10...not worht the extra 1000 rpms of upper range they give per valvetrain noise. [/VENT] got pics of the TWE stuff...installing tomorrow along with stock cams, modded bushings and DPBE....

garner
WJM, GO MAN GO!!!! When you get a chance, talk to Delta and or send those cams beack to them. I've heard of a few problems and I wonder if they are F%$#ing up their grinds some how. They make 3 grinds for the EA82 and two of the three require shims under the HLAs..... garner
Snowman
Hmmm.... Garner, do you know which grinds require shims? I had them do my carbed ea82 cams last year with their "RV" grind. I've been fighting carb issues forever so I don't know if the cams are working right or not. They don't click or anything though.

As I understand it, The 260/677 (I think that's right) they call it the Torque grind is the only version that doesn't require shims. The other two are more aggressive (less street-able) and require shims to avoid lifter tick. I must say, I am relaying this information 2nd or 3rd hand. I'd call them just to be sure your particular grind doesn't require shims. I'm not implying that Delta cams are anything less than fabulous, it's just that I know of atleast one set that was wacked.... garner
