Need Advice on EA81 Wagon Hood problem?

Featured Replies

I hate to ask such a question being that I have not attempted to fix it yet. But I was wondering if anyone had this similar problem.. Within the last few months my hood on my ea81 wagon had been getting harder to push the hood up.. Well I now when the hood is closed on my wagon the rear part of the hood no longer lays flat with the rest of the body line. The rear part of the hood sort of sticks up. Also when I open the hood it becomes slightly difficult when I raise it in the upright position and when I do raise it up I no longer need to use the hood prop to keep the hood open it just stays up in any position. How can I fix it back to the way its should be???? Thanks Joe

To get lube to the hinge bolts, you have to pull the cowl. At least thats what I found. Not hard to do, take off both wiper arms(2 nuts) and 5 screws on the front. Just keep track of the black plastic inserts that the tangs on the cowl that stick into the firewall, some of mine came out with the cowl.
