November 8, 200421 yr My Tranny changes gears at random, Driving along and it will down shift or go back and forth down/up shift at random...worse when tranny is cold. Any ideas???? Any help or ideas appriciated...THX

It just started doing that about a 2 weeks ago...it doesn't slip, just downshifts/upshifts at random ... it has an updated tranny ... done by Dealer about 6 years back .... when did it start doing this? November 13, 200421 yr Check the pressure limiting resistor behind the battery. Some disconnect it to firm up the shifts but apparently that also allows it to hunt or skip gears when downshifting among other things. May not be the problem but should be quick and easy to check the resistor and to make sure it is connected. Les
