Hi: just bought an 02 forester. Need to buy the keyless remote. Is it safe to buy one on ebay or do i need to go to the dealer. They are on ebay for $10-$25 and the dealer wants $150.

 

Would I be able to program it myself?

i got mine off ebay (97 legacy) and you should be able to find directions on how to program it.... if not go to the dealer and have it programed but i would go to ebay for the actual remote

It is safe to buy one on ebay. Jusrt make sure it is an OEM unit and not some knock-off. Once you get it you can find all the help you need at www.the12volt.com

Absolutely. I bought a couple keyless remotes on eBay for around $15 each and programmed the car easily with info that another member here generously provided. I think it took less than 30 seconds to do.

i have some brand new Subaru transmitters for sale. these transmitters fit 1999 2004 Subaru's with factory keyless and have new batteries in them. $18 each or two for $30. shipping is from nj.
