November 21, 200421 yr Hi: just bought an 02 forester. Need to buy the keyless remote. Is it safe to buy one on ebay or do i need to go to the dealer. They are on ebay for $10-$25 and the dealer wants $150. Would I be able to program it myself? Thanks, Lori

November 22, 200421 yr It is safe to buy one on ebay. Jusrt make sure it is an OEM unit and not some knock-off. Once you get it you can find all the help you need at www.the12volt.com
November 28, 200421 yr Absolutely. I bought a couple keyless remotes on eBay for around $15 each and programmed the car easily with info that another member here generously provided. I think it took less than 30 seconds to do.
