Brrr..xtra-cold.

 

The lot at Mt Rose was PACKED this weekend, lots-o-ice.

I woke up this morning at 3:30am and it was 0.5 degrees! Buuuurrrrrrrr.. it froze up my pipes. Todays high is 24. I guess I can live without water! hehe

Ummm...I don't think it got up to freezing here today ...:-\ Right now, I'm looking at, um, 11degrees (above).

im rather busy due to the holidays but my wife and I want to head up for some boarding soon. mabey we could tag along. depends on when you all decide to go.

Dunno when it'll happen. Alot of talk, but not alot of progress I wanna get that RX from your cousin, or brother... or whatever Then take that to play in the snow.

Hey - The Home depot Parking lot on I-80 and McCarran is in Icefield!! Thought I'd post it. Looked like a ton of fun to slide around in! Seems like its all melting away today though. Might have to wait for the next storm.

Actually, the lot behind the main DMV in Carson City is like that too. the ice melts during the day, and the runoff from the plowed snow re-freezes at night. Lots-o-fun after dark:brow: (lots-o-Johnny Law, too).

Hey there's a HUGE lot of snow behind meadowood to the east that is just begging to be driven through!! It didn't look like it had melted too much because of the trees, so this next snow storm might help it! Thought I'd share

Is it supposed to snow anytime soon? Because it seems like we aren't gonna have a snow run if we don't have any snow. Maybe we can get together for a regular run? I don't know, this weather's been amazingly crappy (Not Snowing)

Damn when I was a kid I loved the snow! I could not wait for it to fall. Seems the older I get the more I hate it! HA! But it sure is fun to drive in!

 

As for snow fall.... none for the next week. Since I have a ea81 again I'm up for some wheelin outings.

Well.. what did I say guys? It snowed!! And you know what that means...

 

If things go right, i'd like to take a run up to Kyburz or outside of Tahoe on Thursday the 28th. Maybe even the 21st.

 

Jeremy, JB you guys have Thursdays off right I know Jeremy just got some new snowtires that need to be broken in.

Hope we can do something this week because starting next week I'll have weekends off only.

What's the deal with studded tires? I didn't think they were any better than a good set of regular snows on the mud and snow...I do know that extra caution should be used on pavement, the car can kind of "float" at about 40 or 50 MPH.

Where are y'all planning on going? Lots of Sierra Cement around here.

You can get through chain control with out putting on chains with a 2wd car? Thats all I see good.

Dave - I'd have to show you the tires that were on there! The driver side front was 80% Bald! Brian can attest to that. It was fun trying to get it out of the driveway cause it wouldn't catch. I had a set of studs sittin here and I *think* they will work a little better.

Studs are only better for ice... wont do anything for just plain snow.

 

I was thinking of the Kyburz area Dave. This thursday works for me.

mmmm I heard its in the upper 40's low 50's in the mountains! I cant wait to get out of the foggy cold valley where it was only 38 today. I wont have my snow tires mounted by thurs.. but thats ok.

Whynot? Get them mounted! hehe you wont be sorry you did.

 

Dave, is everything there turning into cement? There's a Tract off of hwy 50... a few miles past Kyburz that Ive been wanting to check out for a while now. I hope its open in the winter.
