August 16, 200322 yr Hello all... My local subaru shop, who constantly put up with my annoying self hanging around asking questions...trying to get their help in keeping my legacy turbo with a engine that wasn't ever sold in the US running...well anyways, they go above and beyond the call of duty. Ahh yes, the point, they are really into tricking out 80's subarus for off roading purposes...but the owner of the shop seems to want to get into something newer in the subaru range. I think he might want a forester or OB or OBS...all jacked up with scorpion lift and such. But anyways, he is smart enough to only get into it if he can find a dual range tranny to go with. I remember that some european, and maybe japanese and australian late model subarus got the dual range tranny still. I can't remember exactly which models got them, I thought they were ones with EJ25s, maybe foresters? Anyways, I am trying to get in his good graces, and as a thank you, find him a supplier for a late model used (or new) dual range tranny. Any ideas or information would be greatly appreciated! thanks Micum
August 16, 200322 yr yes we got a d/r tranny here in Australia i'm sure it is in the outback and the forester both with 2.5 engine from about 97 onwards
August 17, 200322 yr I know that in The Netherlands most models with the 2.0 engine have the extra high/low gear. Its in Forresters, Impresa and Legacy. However I have only seen Legacy's with the 2.5, and only in combination with the automatic transmission. JaapH
