I am looking at a sharp '96 Legacy wagon, 2.2, automatic, with 130,00 miles. All checks out great EXCEPT trans. shifts a little rough between gears. Could this be a simple fix or a car to avoid????

sounds like the tranny is at the end of it's life

 

missed or rough shifts = slipping tranny

 

slipping tranny = dying tranny

 

best off to plan to buy a rebuilt tranny, or a new car soon
