well after tinkering with the coupe I am only getting codes for EGR and purge (34 & 35)

 

 

would a bad EGR Solenoid casue the compuer to think the purge solenoid was bad too, even if it was ok??...mostly what im geting at is..

 

should i replace hte EGR and see if i can get away just doing that?

Don't know about the replacing part, but getting 2 codes form closely located parts sounds suspiciously like a connector issue. Have you checked the 2 against specs?

conections are fine...i don't have a multimeter to check values on any sensors

before you changing the EGR, make sure that the passage way leading up from the motor to the EGR is not plugged (deep inside)..often this can be the problem and not the EGR
