November 30, 200421 yr I own a 2003 Subaru Forester X. I would like to extend the range of my security system, is there any way of doing this? My wireless transmitter only works when is right next to the car. Thanks!
November 30, 200421 yr I have an 01 Forester, and I have contests with the kids on how far we can be away from it and still get it to unlock/honk. Our Forester will work several hundred feet away. Enough that the people next to it have no idea why it just honked? Are your batteries good? You should have better range? Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
November 30, 200421 yr Author I can barely get 30 feet. I haven't changed the batteries, but is about year and a half since I bought the car. I thought that the batteries last much longer than that....
November 30, 200421 yr Since you are still under warranty probably youmay want to let the dealer look at this. You should have more range than that I would think. You may have a bad transmitter and replacing the battery would be a good first step to see if that is bad. Do you have another fob you can compare the working range with?
