Ecu

Featured Replies

the 85 Gl D/R have a ECU dont they because i was reading the acticle on how to get the codes so if it does where is the connecter??

the ECU is located in the trunk, like where the rear speakers would be mounted on most cars. the ECU has an LED that flashes the code. not sure about your model so i can't give you specifics, it may even be located somewhere else.

do you have a carb...that would mean no ECU...do you have fuel injectors...that would mean you do have an ECU.

On XT's they are in the trunk. :-p

In the sedans/wagons/coupes they are under the steering column above the kick panel there.

IF its carbed and has an O2 sensor...then its a feedback model carb, and has an ecu...might throw codes, might not...just have the ignition on, and the LED will blink on some slow and fast flashes...oh, you might want to pull the panel down so you can see the ECU.

Did you see WJM's comment about Carb models having an ECU if it has an oxygen sensor in the exhaust?

yea i saw his post it doesnt have a o2 sensor in it, but now that i checked the exhaust it doesnt have a cat, did that come out in later cars or what?

some of them had feedback carbs....it was useless...but they still had it...dunno what years and models tho..
