MAF upgrade

Featured Replies

I just looked at the intake on my 91 Loyale wagon. What a joke.

Are there any fixes for the ridiculasly(spelling not a strong point) small MAF.

I cut a nice hole in my filter box so I get a bit of ram effect from behind the headlight, but I don't see how it will help b/c the MAF is the most restrictive point from what I can figure.:banghead:

Do those use a hot-wire MAF, or a Vane type MAF? If it's Vane, you *might* be able to use a MAF off of an older Turbo car, or MPFI car. not sure though.

Is it a SPFI? I'm reckoning it is, cause of the disgust in the MAF. It's a hot wire, so it's a problem trying to get another one for it. It has a pretty specific voltages that it runs off of, and sends to the computer. I would get the specifications for it, the voltages, and what pins are whot, and then look around for another one that looks the same but is bigger, and has the same specs, then see if it will work. Lotsa luck.

Yes SPFI.

Yes Hotwire type.

I was hoping someone had done this already but hey at least now I know where to start.

Votages eh! This is going to be more invovled then I thought/hoped.

It may be a while before I can get on this but I'll let you know if I accomplish anything worthwhile.

Thanks.
