Was wondering if anyone has recommendations on doing a little body work on a '92 Legacy, slightly newer generation 2.2 wagon on the front panels on either side? I just want it to pass inspection, but the wholes on both sides of front panels are too large to just use a little bondo. Economy is my aim. Thanks!

You can either cut out the rusted area and pop-rivet some new sheet metal (Home Depot super cheap and bends easy) then cover the rivits with a thin coat of bondo and repaint. Or go to the auto store and get fiberglass mesh sheeting. it will stick with the bondo. Good quick and easy repair. Thats the oly way I can explain it without seeing how bad it is ( I am a bodywork kinda gal)

GAWD! Am I ever glad I live in a state that doesn't screw around with this kind of krap. Man if I had to go thru that just to get a safety sticker (which doesn't exist here, thankgawd) I'd paper mache it and spray it with primer, just to prick the system.

Krag..I am new to CT so how far are your from Danbury or Milford?? I could look at it for you want either at my place or if you want to stop at our welcoming Pat from Washington party in Milford. I can either tell you the best way to fix it cheap or evan possible do it for you..I have everything to do it.

I'll be transferring plates from another Subaru I gave to a friend, and trying to get this to pass inspection...It also needs a windshield, not for function, but for inspection, crack cannot be repaired. Is Triumph auto glass at $200 or so best way to go there? Thanks...

Bah, you can just do what everybody in Oahu does. Snag the stickers from your neighbors cars in the middle of the night.

Don't know about over there, but pop rivets would NEVER pass an inspection in this country! If you are using them, ensure they are steel, not aluminium, otherwise glavanic corrosion will occur.

I used Triumph for my Brat, the same price, $200.00 and they seemed to be the only ones willing to do it. Giant Glass said, "No way, too old." The kid at Safe-lite didn't know what a Brat was?!
