January 13, 200521 yr my defrost isn't working in my RX (88), when I push the switch I don't hear the relay click, so I switch the switch out and same thing so I get to checking the connector with a test light. and I get the relay to click over but the grid still didn't defrost, might not have let it run long enough but the volts weren't droping. what is the problem? also the FSM shows a relay box in the back, and I can't find it or a loose connector.
January 14, 200521 yr Check to see if you are getting voltage to the grid connections. If you are, then the grid has an open connection somewhere. If you don't have any voltage, you need to trace back the wiring and find the bad connection.
January 14, 200521 yr oh, that relay box might be gone. get the one from the...well, its gone too. darn.
January 14, 200521 yr Author you plotted this didn't you? and yes I checked it allready, it doesn't have one. might have a look see in the rotary RX and see if that one be there.
January 14, 200521 yr My 81 DL's defroster didn't work until I actually had the heater control unit replaced, now all the defroster "ribs" work.

Do it. i remember taking it out cuz it was floppin all over the place...like the one in the 87 does. BUt now..the switch in the dash is broken again...so it still doesnt work. i dont know where the 89's is. Im sure the rot has it.
