January 15, 200521 yr hello there. i picked up a foglight switch 87+ i got 6 wires off of it white red red red/blue red/black red/green the only thing i need to know is 12v, 12v switched out, ground.. ..and unless it doesn't use the 12v-in for illumation, i might need to know that as well.
January 15, 200521 yr Dude, I tried for you; three sources and nothing. I'm guessing that you are adding a switch to control after market lights? Your best bet, if this is true, would be to drill a hole in the acc switch cover and but a cheap 'fuse bus' plastic switch - three wires (ground, power, acc out), the way it should be. If this is not the case, taking a look at the rear defog switch might help you convert between wire set up. Good Luck!!!

January 15, 200521 yr Sorry, I can't help with a diagram. Got a multimeter? Start testing with the meter to see what has continuity when, and what sort of resistance there is. The main power control should have close to 0 ohms of resistance, and the circuit that lights the switch itself should have several ohms. I honestly have no idea why they would make a simple switch so complicated, but you can probably figure it out with a little bit of messing around.
January 15, 200521 yr Spend time doing ohm testing after finding the ground and the switch's light power... I really don't understand the need for so many damn wire for a switch.
January 15, 200521 yr Author thats the thing...i don't have a multimeter up here! ..it's on the list of tools to get. i had access to a bunch in bend, now i am slowly filling up my tool chest up here.
January 15, 200521 yr Author well i can see the need for thoose wires. in stock form it wont work with just the cornerlights, it needs a 12 from the headlighs. when it gets signal form the high beams it turns off the ability to turn on the fogs. but you would think that would be taken car of at the relay for stock fogs..wait, they probably dont have a relay in stock form!
January 15, 200521 yr Looks like you get to do some trial and error. No multi meter or test like you can make a cheesy test light out of a 1156 bulb. One wire to the contact in the center and the other to the outside. Alot of tape, aligator clips or nails and you got a half a$$ test light. Megyver babie. Just a thought those wire colors might be constant throughout the car. You might be able to figure it out faster.
