4EAT AWD hiting harder and slower??

Recommended Posts

My '98 Legacy L wagon with EJ22 and 4EAT has 141k on it now. Now that we have 2 FEET of snow here in New Hampshire I have been noticing that the rear axle does not engage till teh front wheels have made a few full rotations, then it hits hard on lock-up. This car had the tailcone replaced becouse of the tourque bind problem at 45k, I don't know if that could have a affect on teh delay. It just seems that it taking longer and longer for the clutch to engage the rear wheels in slipery situations?? Anyone with AT experincing this with 100k+ Roos???

sounds as if you need a transmission fluid power flush.

it could be a sticking valve that is controlled by

duty solenoid C.

Subaru used to sell a trans fluid conditioner

just for 4EAT problems

AWD is still slow and hiting hard? I have a ABS fault when I drive over 65 MPH for any length of time my ABS light comes on. then If i resart teh car it comes on until I drive a bit and use teh brakes then it goes out till I hit over 65 again. I think it is a bad speed sensor. Could that have anything to do with my AWD being VERY slow to react to front wheel slipage??
