green connectors,white connectors?

Featured Replies

i know the green connectors under the hood are for diagnostics what are the whit connectors for??

Those are for the "clear memory" mode. Both are different things for the same system - your service manual should detail proceedures for reading codes and clearing them too.

sometimes these same clonnectors will be black depending on model and year

alright cool, thanks. by the code test looks like i have a bad EGR selenoid. now it's time to look up the price and see how bad the damage is :s

Just get one used from the junkyard, they are way too expensive to get from the dealership.

this is what the part looks like but dont be surprised that it costs 100 dollars. get one from the yard, the purge comntrol solenoid and egr solenoid are the same thing, any parts car should have 2

make sure the little dookers dont break off!

I will have to disagree with 85Sub4WD

As Miles points out on MPFI and turbo cars

the connectors are black in color and located under the dash.

the white (black) connectors are for retrieving the error codes

stored in the ECU

hence they are called

"Read Memory" connectors
