Hello all, will a 2002 Subaru WRX power steering rack work in a 1995 Impreza? My steering rack is leaking a bit, and I’m not ready to fork over $700 to fix it. To be honest, I brought the car into the dealer for an oil change, and the service guy pointed out the leak. It can’t be that bad of a leak, since I don’t see any oil on the driveway, but the service guy said I should fix this problem ASAP. What’s the worse thing that could happy, my power steering goes out, and I just have manual steering?

if it's just leaking tell him to put new seals in it that cost a couple dollars instead of replacing the whole rack. he can still wreck you on labor hours, but seals are much cheaper than racks.

The racks are not interchangable
