I am a new prowd owner of a 86GL it was free but motor was overheated so bad drivers side plastic covers are melted. is there hope for the motor???

if the timing covers are melted, think of what went on inside the motor to cause that much heat outside the motor, do what was already said and it might be ok, but dont get your hopes up. if it is toast then try to find a rebuild kit with all the gaskets and stuff, salvage what you can, and find a replacement motor if need be.
