90 Legacy w/s wipers

Featured Replies

90 Legacy wagon -- drivers side wiper does not work. pass side is ok what does it take to get into it to fix ? Broken shaft ?? arm inside?? wiper is still in place and free to move but no power on it. HELP !

Are you sure the nut didn't come loose on the shaft. Pop the cover off the bottom of the wiper arm and check it.

I believe the wipers only use one motor.

Look at the shaft for the wiper. Is it moving, if so then the shaft or wiper arm is stripped. The linkage between the two sides could have come apart, but I doubt that. You need to pull both wiper arms and the plastic cover to get at the linkage.

On my '96, there is nothing to strip. The shaft and wiper arm are not keyed in any way. If the nut comes loose, the shaft just spins. Great design...:brow:
