pesky oil leak

okay another question i have is that my suby leaks oil from the timing covers mostly on the left side and i can't drive it too far or the oil is drained. i thought of replacing all my gaskets but before that i asked my friend to take a look at it first and he told me that the leak wasn't there. He called it a "traveling leak" which means i have to take it appart and find it inside the covers. its driving me crazy though.
