Dog Guard for 2005 Forester 2.5XT

Featured Replies

I just bought a 2005 Forester 2.5XT and because I have three dogs, I also purchased the dog guard/compartment divider. I was shocked to discover that the retractable cover can not be used if the dog gate is installed. Does anyone know of a fix for this? The dog gate screws into the roof, so it's not so easy to just take it out and pop it back in.

They both butt right up to the back of the seats to get your as much room as possible in the back. I can't really think of a way to do it without modifying the gate.

All the gates I have seen in soobies are an easy swap. Just unscrew it and screw it back in, no biggie.

Weird indeed. I have a genius dog that figured out how to bump the cargo cover from underneath & squeeeeeze through between the back of the back seat & the gate... I tried to move the gate as close as possible to the back seat with out the cargo cover & it didn't go... I had to construct a wooden frame that also tied off to the gate & the head rest brackets..... BTW: two OBWs... 99 & 96.

i just picked one up out of the free ads.was listed as being for a forester,i'm hoping that i'll be able to get it to fit in my 94 legacy :brow:

i noticed that it (bolts) to the roof,is there a cross member up there to attach it to?

well if it doesn't fit,at least i didn't pay anything for it
