nedro
Does anyone have the Subaru part # for the oil filter for the 2005 3.0, 6 cyl. My manual states it should be a black filter. I got a white one from the dealer. Thanks.
subeman90
The origional filter on the car is always black and seems a little smaller than the one you will replace it with. I just did my first change on my new OBS and this was the case. BTW, do not tighten the new one as much as the origional one....your knuckles will thank you. As for part #'s go to ebay and do a search....there was a guy selling oem filters from a dealer down south...I believe he listed a PN with the auction. nedro
Are you saying the the filter you replaced was white? Anyone out there with the right part #? I was hoping to change the oil today. Thanks.
subeman90
allsubaru.com states it is PN SOA5165109 What I was stating before is most likely the filter on the car now is black but if the new one is white that is OK as long as you bought it for an H6 (6 cyl) car you won't have a problem. nedro
Thanks for the part number! It's a match. I wouldn't have had a problem if the Manual didn't mention the black vs white filters. And I couldn't call them back to double check until Monday. Again, Thanks for the help.

Jim Davis
My Subaru dealer uses Quaker State products. If you are interested, the Quaker State part number for the H6 filter is QS3593A.
ANDYGREEN
THOUGHT IT WAS 15208AA031 FOR AN H6 15208AA080 if they still stock them 0r 15208AA100, thats the superceeded number.
