Hey, I just bought a 1987 Subaru GL 4x4 5spd. NICE. Sure beats putting around in my sisters teenie tiny Honda. Man I hate that thing, lol. My first car was a 1993 Subaru Loyale FWD auto with 205,000 miles on it and it ran better than my sisters Honda with 150,000. The starter went out on it and my mom sold it because it was under her name. So I was left with my sisters car for transportation. She doesn't have her driver's license anyway so if it wasn't for me, it would be sitting under a tree in our yard. I got fed up with it and bought the Subaru from an older lady who babied it, but the owners before lived near the ocean and the engine is covered in salt. A good steam cleaning and it should do just fine. I like the fact it rides about 10 inches higher up in the air than that damn Honda. Anyway, I hope to go on a trip with you guys someday, maybe when I'm out of high-school and I have a better paying job. It already has high profile tires on it so it has decent ground clearance as it is. I'm thinking about putting exhaust on it and a K&N air filter on it just for a few more horses. It has very little rust and the interior is in really good shape. I paid $1100 for it and it was worth every bit. I love this car. It's so awesome. I love seeing the look on rednecks faces when I climb hills that their overweight Dodge trucks with the 33" swampers can't climb. But my favorite look, by far, is the look on their face when they see a full size spare sitting on top of the engine. HAHAHA... now that's funny. If you guys feel like it, just leave some messages so I can get to know everybody. I left a thread somewhere on this site stating basically the same things I've said on this post...... but I can't find it, lol. I hope to go on a trip with some of you guys someday, it sounds like alot of fun. There's some good trails down in Chatanooga I believe, but my friend knows of a great one I saw on tape when he was with his brother somewhere in the backwoods of the Smoky Mountains. I hope to catch up with you guys later. I'll put up another post sometime tomorrow I hope.

p.s. Honda+speedbump=stuckfergood

Welcome to the board. You might want to get together with the East Coast guys(usually in N.J. or PA) or the midwest meet (Iowa, I believe)or even the alliance group (in Indianna).

Hey dude----Welcome a"board".

If you steam cleaned before, you already know it might not run right till she completely dries out. Good Luck.:D
