Fuse for Front-Wheel Drive

Is this for all auto trans. Subarus? Within years range when to when??

I too drive about 150 mi. daily. Will I save fuel with the fuse in?

OK to drive regularly that way, or is this only for emergencies??

Thanks in advance.

Please do a search on this. Gets discussed quite often. Yes, you can put it in AT only. Yes you can drive long distances and periods of time with fuse in. Seems to be no prob. ciao.

Some say parts get worn out a lot faster...and before you know it, you will be spending much money getting stuff fixed. Do a search...it has been discussed many times.

Thanks.

I also saw some posts re. NASIOC Subies handling poorly in slippery weather without AWD engaged.

So it looks like it should be kept in AWD unless temporarily for some specific reason, like maybe an off-size tire in use due to lack of the right one, or a mech. problem in the rear end, etc.

The jist of it is you can wear out the duty c solenoid prematurely, and you won't really gain any fuel savings due to the fact you're still spinning the rear drivetrain.

Yeah...that is what I was talking about boozing.gif
