March 18, 200521 yr Author How would you have a turbo rebuilt and what would the cost be? I'm assuming I can't just wash it out with Simple Green and warm water :-)
March 19, 200521 yr Author I have a feeling the WRX turbo might be a bit much for the EA82T to handle, and that the Legacy turbo might be the best option for those not wanting to tear apart their intake/outtake system, but I'm far from being knowledgeable on the subject. Do people have experience with turbos from other makes of cars? Where is the up-pipe exactly? Downpipe is the two leading into the cat, no? And who makes cats that will fit onto the factory downpipe and lead into a single, preferably 2.5" (assuming this is the "best" for a turbo) exhaust?
March 19, 200521 yr the uppipe is the exhaust manifold/header/crossover pipe. this is connected to the turbo. then you have the downpipe which flows exhaust to the cats, then to the muffler.
March 19, 200521 yr the legacy turbo exh housing despite the 4 bolt to 5 bolt differences, is the EXACT SAME on the exhaust side. THe compressor is a little larger. the TD04 is not oo large. The VF40 is not either. 16G is still not too large. this comes straight from the turbo expert, Jerry Hagen.
