Saab 900 Intercooler & Bypass Valve install, version 1.2

Featured Replies

I plumbed my BPV the other day. Just had time to snap some shots.

It looks pretty crude, but it's all functional and that was my goal. THe car actually performs better than it did before (which was another goal).

Version 2.0 will be stainless steel mandrel bends with a couple silicone couplers.

You can see my epoxy on the bottom of the BPV, it came apart... i'll need to fabricate a gasket to seal it better and find a different way to attatch it.

Stay Tuned.....

Cool.

Next you need a larger intercooler. :-p

Given proper airflow, the 900 IC is a great choice for stock or slightly raised boost applications. I have run those ICs at 20+ PSI and had them not only not blow apart, but still work somewhat effectively. (disclaimer.. 20+psi is reserved for the blackstone ICs with the aluminum endtanks.. The rest with plastic endtanks, exceed 15psi at your own risk :D )

I like this IC because its inlet and outlet are the same diameter as my intake. The plumbing is very simple and it's an effective intercooler.

My hoodscoop completly engulfs the IC as well.
