This seems weird, I have a 99 forester s auto, and the other day on a road trip the check engine light came on, which i have never had happen. But, everything seemed fine so i kept going, i dident really have a choice. We went about 500 miles more and the light went out on the road, so i thought great maybe just a loose gap cap and its over. Well the next day when i went our to warm up the car it came on. I was out running arrons that day but it stayed on all day, the next morning i came out again turned it on and the light was off. The road trip was thursday night, and this on and off thing has been going on since. But i have had the car up to about 75 and its not rough at all, everything seems to be in working order.

 

Please help i have to go back to mexico and i cant get parts there!

Most major auto parts stores will pull the codes for you for free. Call around to see which ones will where you are. Once we have the codes, we can procede from there.
