yeah that stuff isnt coming off very easily. its like asphalt, and a wire brush barely dents it. im soaking a valve in paint thinner to see if that loosens it.

I don't know if they still sell carburetor cleaner (the stuff you use for rebuilding); if so, this should take it off... along with your skin and anything else organic that it touches.
