April 17, 200520 yr or does any EA82T i own just NOT like Atlanta? last week it was a head gasket...JWX and i worked thru the night and morning friday night/sat morning to get the car back together for the ProSolo today/tomorrow...and we did it. it was running perfectly and I made 8 ProSolo runs in SM and did quite well....on STOCK boost. However...on the way back to Top Speed....the cam pully bolts on the pass side backed out....right in the middle of traffic, pully came loose on one bolt, and the belt snapped....down on 2 cly. limped it to a nice safe parking lot. JWX has some spares....but after not sleeping in the last 40+ hours...im about to just give it up.
April 17, 200520 yr Man Will your having some $#!tty luck with your ride of late.. There some bolts that hold up the sunroof in gl-10s that have a thread cut in them that actually varies in diameter so it scrapes the threads it is screwed into harder than a normally cut screw..these are what I used to bolt my cam gears in place..they screw in tight and are the perfect length (slightly longer than stock but not long enough to bottom out) When you see one you'll see what I'm talking about..
April 17, 200520 yr You think thats bad, I had a bolt on my windshield wiper come out, and it nearly flew of the car! But seriously, sorry about the bad luck. I can feel you pain.
April 17, 200520 yr Author Well, its back home in Asheville now. Its retired until May 24th....at which time it will roar to life again for autocrossing.
