Spfi Conclusions

Well Ive dove into this swap head first got everything done except

the wiring harness connected to the igntion and ecu. Im curious

how you others have gone about doing it and routing the wyres

I was able to run the harness up under the dash through the original hole

with NO cutting, just alot of figiting and cursing, Also the way it appears

to me the harness and ecu can be ran as a sub-system to the car as leaving

the original harness for everything on the dash, lights, gauges,

Which leaves only a few wyres to recieve power, ECU>Sensors, Coil>Fuel pump

and do all that from the ignition switch with a fuse of course. So if im not mistaken i think this way is a bit simplier, unless im wrong about something post and let me know if im missing something, I'd appreciate it so later on!

this is on a ea-81 85 brat

im almost done

John

That's pretty much what I did, and how I wrote the conversion manual. My SPFI setup is COMPLETELY separate from the rest of the car's electrical system after the battery connection except for the tach and speedo hookups. It was really easy to do that way.

i use the stock coil power wire... thats the only thing connected into my stock harness. put the computer behind the passenger seat. and ran the wires through the passenger side hole...
