My heat shield has been missing since I bough this car and paid the price. I am on my 3rd passenger side CVJ in 100,000 miles. So I am off to a junkyard to get one. My easy question is where are these suckers mounted??? am I looking only at one shield?? ...I just want to crawl on that junkyard floor as little as possible! Thanks

Mine is integrated/spot welded to/on top of, the cat at the Y of the Y pipe.

 

Heat sheild on this 85 has been removed, cat gutted, sheild replaced. I want to take the gutted cat and cut out of the Y pipe, and just install a fabbed up heat sheild, just havn't had time to figure out how yet. But I will.

if you have nothing it would prabably be easier to get some header wrap.
