so i bought a 95 impreza with a ej18 and the car has really bad hesitation (so bad it barely moves) so when i bought it i just figured the timing belt was off a tooth.....well i tore into it and all the marks line up perfect. anybody have any ideas on what could be causing the hesitation?

i pulled the codes and got 13, cam position sensor? should i just replace it and see if that works?

That's what I would recommend. You're lucky it's only 17$ at 1stSubaruparts.

Moreover, it's probably the easiest part to replace on your engine. One connector and one bolt.

Yeah replace that sensor....and clear the ECU

 

 

Unhook the Negative termianal for about an hour
