75subie
i am pondering a ea82t swap into my brat.who was it that did it on the board?how was the performance?did much welding need to be done?does the engine vibrate against the frame rails?any advice?i found a 87 xt turbo 5sp (no title) for $75 so i could swap everything out of that into the brat.seems like it would be a fun project.are they pretty snappy?i still love the brat as is, but kind of getting bored around here, and want something to work on.any info appreciated. jon

Dr. RX
Swapping an EA82 into an EA81 series car has it's problem, with the side rails being the worst. You want to put this into an earlier series body, I'm not sure about the side rails, but they might even be narrower then the EA81's, if so, you will definately have to do some cutting of the rails. Installing a turbo has another problem, the uppipe, that comes from the heads to the turbo travels over (between the engine and it) the crossmember. On turbo cars, this area has been recessed to allow clearence, you may have to modifiy your crossmember to make this allowence.
