Hidden/low-profile Trailer Hitches

Featured Replies

Hey-

Does anybody know of any hidden trailer hitches, or low-profile trailer hitches. prefferably for a 2004 WRX wagon. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I don't know if they have them for a WRX...but my Outback came with a hitch from UHaul and you cannot see it. You might want to give them a try.

I'd say most of the hitches for Subarus are hard to see.

All the ones I've seen are just a small receiver hiding a fraction of an inch below the bumper?

I have a Draw-Tite and am happy with it. It has the small size receiver and you don't really notice it.

Good Luck

Try searching http://www.etrailer.com/. If there is a low profile/hidden hitch that will fit your vehicle, they'll probably carry it.

In fact, here's the search:

I also have a Draw-Tite. (96 Legacy) Only used it once so far, but no complaints. Once you take the hitch-ball thingy out it's pretty low profile, though I have dragged it on a bad curb drop once. (Better the hitch than my exhaust system, eh?)

I put one on my 02 Legacy Wagon. The receiver part is 9 or so inches long. The body of the hitch sits just below and well behind the bumper. Etrailer had some of the best prices on the net, but look for free shipping if you can find it. The total package is 40lbs so shipping costs can be up there. The hitch install went, well, without a hitch. I still have to hook up the wiring, but that is a post for another thread. :banghead:

I put a hidden hitch on my 99 Forester. Class II hitch and very hidden. With the cap over the receiver portion, you can't see any metal at all.

I bought the stock Subie hitch at:

I use it for bikes but when not in use I always have a 2 inch ball in it, since that sticks out about 8 inches behind the bumper, it influences crazies to not blast right up behind me at a signal. Why hide it; the bike rack is super, my rack will fit the large or small hitch receivers so it works on several cars.

I just put a Draw-Tite hitch on my '02 WRX Wagon. It is barely visible when nothing is in the receiver. I got it to use with a Hollywood Bike Rack. Ordered it from hitchfinder.com (around $110 with shipping, installed myself - no drilling required).
