Ok theres my problem. The engine is new. 5000 miles. I have a problem with intermittent miss. Comes and goes. Runs like it has a bad valve. The motor "thumps" rather than sings when I go through the gears. It just does not pull the way it does at times when it is running good. It does not do it all of the time. Seems to come and go with no direct cause and effect that I can tell. Wires are new and plugs have maybe 8000 mile on them.

 

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I would first try to see if I could try to pin down the problem cylinder by pulling the plug wires one at a time while the problem is happening. The one that makes the least change woould be the one to look at. Replacing the plugs may be a good thing to do and use NGK if they aren't already. A faulty injector may be the cause also.
