hey, there is a book that someone wrote about his journey along the Lewis and Clark trail. Vehicle of choice: A Subaru Hatchback.

Here is an excerpt from the book

third page describes the Soob.

Sounds like they had the TOD along their journey.

Looks I will be getting this book for some reading. Interested in how the soob handled.

i like how they named each one of the subies engine noise(helga, etc)

It says it is a 4 cylinder crammed sideways into the car?? Justy?

And cheap oil? Nooo!!!!

i got that book about a month ago, havn't had time to read it yet, but i'll get to it eventually.

well, to the untrained person, the engine does kinda look like it's sideways lol

They had this book at the library in Corvallis, but it was always checked out when I went in :-(

Got the book this weekend.

Interesting read so far.

Haven't yet confirmed the Soob they are driving in.

Aside from the excerpt in the beginning, they only mention driving down these trails in search of a Prairie Dog Town.
