No Fuel!!

Featured Replies

So I took lifted out for a spin today, filled it with 5 gallons of fuel, and it started sputtering a bit a little while after. I turned around and started to head back. The car cut out and I couldn't get it going. There was no fuel in the carb and I traced it all the way back to the filter coming out of the tank. The brat HAD been sitting for a while, but it also HAD driven 100 miles and then some for the last week, so I don't know. Should I drain the tank and try again, or look into getting a new one?

Replace the filters. Also, your pump is back there as well... and its not uncommon for them to fail. On my lifted wagon, i have a switch that controls my fuel pump. I just hard wired it because the 20+ yr old wiring had finally failed.

I wasn't getting fuel after one of my wagons sat for a couple of months, scratched my head for a while, figured out the fuel pump wasnt sending, so i crawled under and thwhacked it with a hammer a couple of times, started right up. Must of been a peice of sediment settled weird and caught just right. Could be worth a try, could be more serious...just puttin in my 2 cents. -Steve

I agree its your fuel pump. Or filters because that Brat was siting for many years.. The tank could have rusted up. I can come over and take a look at it.. Call me

It SOUNDS like the fuel pump is working. I think it may be in the tank as there isn't even any fuel in the first filter after the tank.

With your engine running you could go back there and feel the pump. If its vibrating its working. Check your filters. Maybe take them off and shake them... if you cant see through all the dirt :)
