Jibs Posted May 9, 2005 Share Posted May 9, 2005 So I took lifted out for a spin today, filled it with 5 gallons of fuel, and it started sputtering a bit a little while after. I turned around and started to head back. The car cut out and I couldn't get it going. There was no fuel in the carb and I traced it all the way back to the filter coming out of the tank. The brat HAD been sitting for a while, but it also HAD driven 100 miles and then some for the last week, so I don't know. Should I drain the tank and try again, or look into getting a new one? TheSubaruJunkie Posted May 9, 2005 Share Posted May 9, 2005 Replace the filters. Also, your pump is back there as well... and its not uncommon for them to fail. On my lifted wagon, i have a switch that controls my fuel pump. scubasteveo45 Posted May 9, 2005 Share Posted May 9, 2005 I wasn't getting fuel after one of my wagons sat for a couple of months, scratched my head for a while, figured out the fuel pump wasnt sending, so i crawled under and thwhacked it with a hammer a couple of times, started right up. Must of been a peice of sediment settled weird and caught just right.
