Clunking noise in front end, got to do with driveline

Featured Replies

Before anyone asks, these are 3 month old CV shafts

there is a clonking noise from the front driveshafts area, that is heard when the car is under load, but not always, can be when going straight or round bends.

It is more a clonk rather than a click

Please help cos it is getting worse

What condition are your front struts in?

Also, what condition are your ball joints in?

Ball joints as in the ends of the steering rack?

Struts are a bit worn

I still believe it has something to do with the driveline cos when its making the noise, if i back off the throttle it goes away

But please any suggestions welcome

Thanks

Im gonna jack up my car and shake every joint and linkage in the suspension and steering and see if i can funs where it is coming fromIs it possiable for the front diff or the splined shafts on the gear box to make this noise, it can also be felt

I had some clunking sounds that went away when I put new front struts in. One sound was a clunk whenever I'd hit the brakes, and another sounded like the axle was bad, and it would go away when I'd let off the gas.
