curtis@sdicasper
I stopped to fill up yesterday and instead of the normal oil burning off the exhaust smell it was antifreeze. Sure enough there was the start of a puddle underneath. The only problem is I can't tell where it is coming from. Is there any sort of weep hole on the water pump? Any ideas? Thanks. 88 GL Wagon EA-82 D/R 5spd 250k miles on the clock, I'm just now breaking it in.
BlueTrain
hopefully its just something simple like a cracked or loose hose. could be a faulty water pump tho..
MorganM
Water pump does have a wheep hole. There is also just a press fit O ring for the inlet tube at the water pump. Hoses are the weakest link; uppper radiator hose, lower radiator hose, in and out heater hoses, small elbow hose on top of water pump, small elbow hose from block to bottom of intake manifold front and center behind the power steering pump, one on the back of the throttle body, and one more from the intake manifold to the back of the throttle body (I think thats all of them =P). Radiators can crack. Find out where its leaking and fix it before you over heat it and ruin that engine.
