So....i did a few things to the RX today...

Featured Replies

#1 was steering rack bushings. I'll post the part number soon. these were DIRECT FIT no mods needed. Remove old ones, install new ones, done. IIRC these are the ones for the GMx/GGx/GCx/GC8 Imprezas.

#2 was some intake work. For the cast iron elbo i had going from the turob outlet to the STi TMIC inlet hose...it had all those wonderful pipe threads and ugly casting junk in there. So...got out the titanium/diamond bits and air dremmel...and made it SMOOTH and LARGE on the inside. The car DOES feel a TON better now. Little bit quiter spool, smother-more power up top...Dyno results comming soon.

#3 is going to be dyno runs...again. Im going to do several stock boost pulls. Next, up the boost in teeny bits until I get to the max safe level...and stay there. I am predicting 11 psi.

Neat stuff. I am interested in learning more about the RX. What years did they make them? What engine? How long have you had yours? Pictures?

Thanks, Mike

RX's were made from 1985 to 1989. The 1985-1986 series were only part time 4WD and sedan form only...in several colors...red, blue etc...

1987 to 1989 were all white, sedan or coupe...and had Full Time 4WD with a locking center diff. Last year of sedan RX was 1988. In 1989, some were made in black...and Full Time 4WD automatic 4EAT's (electronic controlled 4 speed auto) in either white or black. Black is most rare.

All came turbocharged from the factory, all with factory LSD in the rear, and all were 3.70 final drive with the low range being a 1.196 reduction.

I'll post some pics a little later.
