June 6, 200520 yr hey ive been reading reading through a lot of threads and just a few quite general questions have popped into my head; what does M.A.F stand for? What is a "spider intake" when referring to an ea82t? what are GEN 3 heads? what are they off? Cheers everyone in advance, i know these questions may be quite simple to you, but clarification of these terms will realy help me Thanks again
June 6, 200520 yr i don't think we got the "spider" intake here, i think that its something like the ea82t manifold with 4 inlet runners i.e, one to each cylinder
June 6, 200520 yr MAF = Mass Airflow Sensor (a sensor on the intake of a fuel injected engine for calculating the volume of air entering the engine) The spyder intake is found on the XT Turbo, Known as the Vortex in Aust, but unsure if we got the spyder intake here.Basically what LPGsuperchargedBrumby said and they flow better. As to Gen3,.. I have no idea Cheers Gannon
June 6, 200520 yr I think Gen 3 heads refers to the third generation of EA82 heads. There was a tendancy for the heads to crack around the valves so they may have been modified to help avoid this...
June 6, 200520 yr All of the above is correct. Additional note: The spider intake cae in both turbo and NA XTs - 87.5 and up
