Long time fan of subaru

My first suby was a 2 wheel drive 1992 wagon. This car was the first reliable car I ever owned. It off roaded well for only being a 2 wheel drive.

My second suby is a 4wd 92 loyale wagon which I have owned for 13 yrs now. This car is incredible. it has under gone some amazing abuse and it still running strong at 200k.

I owned a turbo gl-10 sedan for a little while but I got a little too excited with it and messed it up a little ,but that is another story.

My brother let me drive home his WRX when he bought it and I drooled a little bit on the way home.

But last week my friend Phil bought an STI and he was foolish enough to let me take it for a spin. By myself I might ad. This car would convert anyone to a subaru lover. I have never driven a car even close to being that sporty before. The thing took off like a bat out of heck after 3000 rpm. Simply an amazing automoblie. Adjustible LSD, Intercooler sprayer, built in body reinforcements, big brakes. Wow... I think this car is pulling 7.5lbs for every pony. That's a pretty good power to weight ratio.Indy cars are like 1 to 1. My loyale is like 27 to 1 an it's a light car. Anyway I have always liked the suby's and it looks like they are only getting better.

I drove a 2.5XT Forester recently, and it pulled in the horizon after 3000rpm, too!

However, throttle response is dulled so much by lag, that taking the car round corners was terminally frustrating. Brake hard, turn-in while releasing the brakes, stomp on the gas.....nothing....nothing.....VROOOMMMMMM!

In my 2.0 Impreza the "stomp on the gas" manouvre is followed by instant urge and a small dose of oversteer. Just how I like it :brow:
