Does anyone know if any given EJ front diff (just the center section, the spyder gear carrier peice...aka the pumpkin?) will work on any given EA82 5spd 4wd transmission w/out modification and will the ring/pinion bolt on?

I've had both apart at work and I would say no.

 

There are lots of differences throughout the design of both units, too much fabrication would be required to make it work.
