I know there have been many postings on torque binding and how to fix it. My question is a little different. I am looking for a used car and want to know everything that I can about discovering a tranny problem. I know about the shudder at slow speed turns. I also know about the yellow tranny power light. What else should I look for regarding torque binding and possible Duty C solenoid damage?

check tranny fluid, see if it's brown or smells burnt.

 

Do a couple figure 8's in a parking lot and see how it feels.

Also get it up to speed on a highway for a few minutes to let it get nice and toasty...that used to kick mine into gear...so to speak:cool:
