Hmm...Should I buy an '89 Justy with an auto tranny going out?

Featured Replies

Just wanting a second/third/fourth opinion...

It's a 1989 GL Justy, automatic with 132k miles..Body is pretty straight, but the tranny is "going out." The dude only wants $500 for it...But I'm sure I can talk him down.

Let me know what you think,

Daniel

seeing as the justy parts are justy unique, and the auto trannys were an unconventional design, I'd give it a miss unless you had a parts car lined up.

It was just a GL FWD with EVCT...I may pass, unless the kid lets it go for CHEAP

I would let it go because I can get one of a similar year (gen 2 justy) FWD, already a 5 speed with a blown engine + a replacement engine for like $300 or something. It will need seals and timing belts and such for the new engine, but still easier than swapping in a 5 speed.

If you want to know more about it PM me.
